How do I export and interpret recorded consents?

Advanced Cookie Banner can export the consent choices recorded by the module in JSON or CSV format. The export contains the records available when the file is downloaded.

How do I download the export?

  1. Open the Advanced Cookie Banner configuration.
  2. Go to the export section in the Consent tab (or Consent export, depending on your module version).
  3. Click the JSON or CSV export button and save the file.

The CSV format uses a semicolon as its separator. When opening it in a spreadsheet, select this separator if the columns are not split correctly. JSON is suitable for processing by a tool or developer.

What do the fields mean?

How do I read the consent value?

For a choice made by category:

When a visitor uses the customization panel to choose modules individually, the field contains a JSON list of the technical names of the authorized modules, for example ["module_name_a","module_name_b"]. These are example names. An empty list [] means that no modules in the categories requiring consent were selected; modules not subject to consent remain allowed.

In a JSON export, this list is stored in the consent field as JSON text, so its quotation marks may appear escaped. In a CSV export, it appears in the consent column.

The meaning of each category depends on how you categorized modules. To check this, see Which modules should I block? To let visitors make a new choice, see How can I let visitors withdraw their consent?
