How to display my search engine only on certain pages?
By default, when you create a search engine it will be displayed on all pages of your site where the hook chosen for the location is present. If you want to choose which pages to display it on, click on the "Visibility" button in the menu at the top of your search engine:
By default all display restriction options are set to "No" :
You have the possibility to restrict the display of the search engine:
- to certain "category" pages
- to certain "Product" pages by selecting the name of the products
- to certain "Product" pages by selecting the name of the parent categories
- to certain "Manufacturer" pages
- to certain "Supplier" pages
- to certain CMS pages
- to certain special pages
Note that you can combine the options: display on certain "Category" pages AND on certain "Manufacturer" pages for example.
Display restricted to certain "category" pages
If you want to display the engine only on certain pages of the "category page" type, select "Yes" in the relevant option and then select the desired "category" pages:
Display restricted to certain "product" pages:
If you want to display the engine only on certain product pages, there are two ways to select the products concerned:
- Directly enter the name of the products by selecting "Yes" for the "Restrict the search engine display to some products (by selecting products)":
Search for products in the search bar and click on the products to be selected:
- Select the parent categories of the products with the option "Restrict the search engine to some products (by selecting parent categories):
In this case, the search engine will be displayed on all the pages of the products that belong to the selected categories. For example, below, the products belonging to the categories "Stationery" and "Home Accessories":
Display restricted to certain "Manufacturer"/"Supplier"/"CMS"/"Special" pages:
If you want to display the engine only on certain "Manufacturer" (brand) pages, select "Yes" for the option concerned, search for the desired page(s) in the search bar and select them (same principle for the "Supplier", "CMS" or "special" pages):
