How do I customise styles and submenu opening?

Start with general settings

In General settings, the sections apply to the different menu levels, from the container down to individual items. Set colours, typography and spacing at this level for a consistent appearance.

In forms that offer object-specific style settings, a specific value overrides the corresponding global setting. Leave the field empty to keep the global style. Start by changing one setting, then check its effect before continuing.

Choose how and where submenus open

In the submenu section, Opening method lets you choose mouse-over or click. Check the result in the shop, particularly if the theme already handles menu interactions.

Position can align the left edge of the submenu with the current tab or with the global menu. With tab alignment, the submenu starts at the entry that opens it; with global menu alignment, it uses the left edge of the menu bar as its reference. The final layout also depends on the submenu width and theme.

To centre tabs within the bar, see the menu centring FAQ.

Fix overlapping content

If another page block covers the submenu, check its z-index value. Increase it if needed, then check the pages where the overlap occurs. If that does not resolve it, have your integrator review the theme’s stacking rules.

Use advanced styles

In Advanced styles, the class fields apply to separate areas:

Enter the classes needed by your theme in these fields. Use the custom CSS field for CSS rules; ask your integrator for help if adjustments are needed. Check rules from an old theme before reusing them.

Keep a copy of this CSS before making changes or migrating: it is stored separately and is not included in the JSON export. The menu migration procedure lists the items to transfer.
