How does the simulation mode work?

Simulation mode lets you configure and check the banner’s appearance. When enabled, the banner is displayed for the authorized IP addresses even if a choice has already been saved. It is hidden from other visitors. Other display requirements still apply, including having banner text for the language being viewed.

  1. In the module configuration, open the Simulation tab and enable Enable Simulation Mode ?.
  2. In Maintenance IPs, enter the authorized addresses, separated by commas without spaces. Add my IP adds the address from which you access the configuration. Check that it appears in the field before saving.
  3. Save, then visit the shop from an authorized address to check the banner.

This IP list is shared with PrestaShop’s maintenance mode. It is not an additional list specific to the module: saving a change in this field also changes that maintenance list.

Simulation mode controls the banner’s display; it does not isolate settings or module execution from the rest of the shop. In particular, saving the customization panel can store a consent choice even during simulation. To check how choices are saved and how modules actually behave after acceptance or refusal, disable simulation and then carry out your consent tests.

Attention: remember to disable simulation mode and save when configuration is complete. The banner will then return to its normal display for visitors who still need to make a choice.
