Which general settings should I use for the module?

The settings below the engines apply to the module configuration for the selected shop. Open “General settings” for display options, “Performance” for caching and indexing, or “Maintenance” for global operations.

Choose display options

Active/inactive status synchronization applies to category, brand and supplier criteria. When enabled, their status follows the source item and can no longer be changed manually in the criteria list. Check this setting if you cannot enable or disable one of these values.

“Display products from subcategories” affects category pages outside a search. This global setting is separate from “Search through all sub-categories” in an engine’s settings, which defines its search scope.

“Out-of-stock product display” lets you show those products, move them to the end of the listing or hide them. This applies to search results and to the display of products from subcategories. It is separate from each engine’s “Search only among products in stock” restriction.

In “Available sort orders”, enable the sorts you want to offer. They are available after a search starts, or on category pages if displaying products from subcategories is enabled. Each engine’s initial sort is configured in its own settings. Sorting by relevance can be inconsistent with subcategories because a product may have a different position in each category.

You can also enable the blur effect while results load and redirect to the original page when the customer removes their last selected criterion. For this redirect, contextual criteria and criteria from an SEO page are not counted as customer selections.

Prepare the display in maintenance mode

The module’s maintenance mode restricts its display to the IP addresses allowed in PrestaShop’s maintenance settings. Use it to prepare the filters before making them visible to other visitors. Check your configuration from an allowed IP, then disable this mode when you want to make the filters public.

Manage caching and global operations

Enable the module cache for normal storefront use. Automatic indexing is also configured in “Performance”; to choose between this method, manual re-indexing and a scheduled task, see the re-indexing FAQ.

In “Advanced styles (CSS)”, your integrator can add styles required by the theme. In “Maintenance”, “Clear cache” does not re-index data; “Reindex all” updates the indexes; “Remove all” deletes the engines. Choose the action that matches your need.

Mobile and troubleshooting

To leave filters open on mobile, see the mobile setting. If content does not load or a control does not respond, use the general loading diagnostic and JavaScript diagnostic procedures.

In PRO, adding SEO page sitemaps to robots.txt is covered in the sitemap FAQ.
