How to avoid a long loading time when updating a pack or a product contained in one or more packs?
Postpone price updates on PrestaShop earlier than 8.1
If saving a pack or a product included in several packs is slow and you use a PrestaShop version earlier than 8.1, you can postpone pack price updates.
In the module configuration, open “Specific settings”. After setting up the CRON task described below, enable “Postpone pack price update (you must use CRON URL if so)”, then save.
On PrestaShop 8.1 and later, this setting is not displayed: this price postponement mechanism does not apply.
Set up the CRON task
Use the CRON URL supplied by your own store in the module configuration. A scheduled task must call it to process postponed updates. Choose a frequency suitable for your needs: postponed updates remain pending until the task runs.
See how to create a CRON task. Always use your own store’s URL.
Postpone available quantity updates
“Postpone pack available quantity update (you must use CRON URL if so)” controls a separate process: updating pack availability when an order is confirmed. It does not replace the price setting and is still offered in the configuration on recent PrestaShop versions.
Only enable it if the scheduled task calls the module’s CRON URL; postponed quantities also wait for that task to run.
