How to configure my module?
The « Energy Label » module enables you to display the energy label created in 2021 on the pages of products affected by the regulations, as well as on product list pages.
From March 1, 2021, a new energy label must be displayed on all relevant appliances (list available here), whether in physical stores or online stores. The introduction of the new labels is gradual, depending on the entry into force of European Union regulations, but will eventually apply to all appliances. So it's essential to bring your online store into compliance now.
The complete energy label and a product information sheet containing additional official technical specifications (EPREL database) must also be available to consumers.
You can consult the European regulation here.
Here's how to configure your "Energy Label" module:
On installation, the module automatically creates an "Energy Label" feature group and the possible feature values between A and G (as well as a N/A value if the class has not yet been defined). But you also have the option of using an existing feature group, if you have already filled in the energy classes of your products in your store for example, by selecting it directly in the module configuration:
The following option allows you to display the energy labels of your products on list pages (as required by European regulations):
Save.
Then go to the "Files" tab in your PrestaShop back-office menu ("Catalog" section). Load the complete energy labels and product information sheets (EPREL database) supplied by your supplier.
Now go to each form of product concerned and select the "Energy label" feature and the appliance's energy class value:
In the attached files section, select the complete energy label for the appliance, check the "Energy label" box and select the product information sheet (see complete procedure here).
Save.
Go to your front office and you should see the energy label under the add to cart button:
By clicking on the energy label you can download the complete energy label:
As for the product information sheet, it can be downloaded from the attachements section:
If you want to display the energy label elsewhere, you can ask your developer to use PrestaShop's widget mode (see developer documentation).
If you have enabled the corresponding option in the module, the energy label will also be displayed on product list pages. Example here on a category page:
You can add an "Energy class" or "Energy label" criterion to your filter module to enable your customers to filter your products according to their energy consumption.
For full compatibility with "Energy Label", we recommend our "Advanced Search 5" module. If you also want to improve your SEO ranking, for example on queries that include certain energy classes, find out the Pro version of Advanced Search 5:
For certain categories of appliances, such as washing machines or TVs, you must also display the Repairability Score. Our "Energy Label" module is fully integrated with our "Repairability Score" module, which displays the repairability score for appliances subject to the regulations. Don't hesitate to combine the two for perfect compatibility!
